February begins with optimism, opportunity and change
From the 19th-25th of January our OGC International brand was represented by our Partners at IMTEX - the International Machine Tool and Manufacturing Technology Exhibition, hosted at the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre.
Having been nearly four years since the last show, 96,000 visitors from 23 countries came invigorated to make this a show stopping event.
It delivered a fantastic opportunity to connect with colleagues and representatives in the region, as we continue to expand our international offering; providing high quality spline plugs, ring gages and master gears along with technical solutions for a wide variety of variable type indicator gages.
New appointments & teamwork deliver a refreshing new approach
We welcome in new team member Scott Paterson to our Birmingham group. Scott comes with some valuable experiences, having worked several years ago within the spline sector. He has already contributed significantly towards the team, bringing a high level of energy and making a very positive impact on our business and customers. We look forward to nurturing his capabilities to become an exceptional leader within our organization.
Ryan Nash, team leader and thread grinder, has been elevated to Deputy General Manager of the New Milton Threads business. Ryan has shown great progress in development of his leadership skills over the past couple of years and is now ready for the next step in his career.
This move allows Clive Legg to step into the role of Group Quality Manager, heading up the quality team for both OGC – Threads in New Milton and OGC International Ltd in Birmingham. He has extensive knowledge and experience within the industry and has held multiple key positions within the company, spanning over the past 35 years. Clive’s acceptance of this position reflects his dedication to our commitment in achieving the absolute highest quality of products, processes and people across the organization.
Clive has been working closely with Michael Searl, who joined the Birmingham team last year, in preparation for our UKAS audit later this month. While Clive is an ace at procedural documentation and QMS audits, Michael completed the 2020 UKAS training and is extremely skilled in the preparation of Uncertainty Budgets for Measurements.
They’re also working on new processes for SPC tracking of key measurement validation charts, to control drift analysis on our Wenzel WGT350. We know Clive and Michael will successfully guide us through our upcoming audit and help drive quality to the next level.
As you can see, we have an exciting couple of months ahead! I’m looking forward to sharing what we achieve throughout February and beyond, as we move forward in our mission to build the number one, most trusted brand for thread, spline and master gear gages.
